広島に滞在中の交換留学生であり写真家のローレンツ・フーターさん（Lorenz Huter）が、基町の建築と日常に惹かれ、写真作品として記録・展示します。偶然と意図の両方から撮影された基町の風景を通して、「都市の中の小さな都市」としての基町を見つめ直し、来場者にも身近な風景への好奇心を促すことを促します。

As a photographer and exchange student in Hiroshima, I’ve been drawn to Motomachi and its unique architecture ever since I arrived. While browsing through my photo archive, I realized how often I had taken pictures of this area, without initially intending to create a project about it. But sometimes I chose to enter Motomachi intentionally, and whenever I did, beautiful stories and fascinating interactions would unfold. Whenever I spend time in this microcosm, this »city within a city«, my curiosity is sparked. With this exhibition, I aim to explore Motomachi more deeply and, at the same time, encourage visitors to be curious about their own surroundings and to explore neighborhoods, move through the world with open eyes, and notice the small but beautiful things happening around them daily.
